Still Tired...

...but I'm not anticipating getting a lot of sympathy, since it is self-inflicted.

Living far away from most of our family in Canada, we rarely have a chance to go anywhere sans les enfants. Which is why, when my parents graciously offered to babysit, we wasted no time!

Never mind that we'd just returned from a week in France. Or that tackling Mt. Laundry would be a near impossible task to manage in 24 hours.

We gladly jumped back into the rat race called 'airport-hopping-in-Europe'.

Any guesses as to where we headed?

A few hints:

- Its location is within 2 hours from Oslo by air.
- Its history is arguably among the most devastating and divisive in the twentieth century.
- Fortunately, over the past 20 years or so, it has enjoyed an amazing rejuvenation.

The parliament building looks like this in chocolate:

And here's an inside view of the actual parliament dome - just one of the city's architectural triumphs from the past couple of decades:

So come on, don't be shy...give me your BEST guess!

Well, the chocolate picture didn't work...so I'm at a disadvantage. 2 hours from Oslo...Austria? I have no blasted clue, girl.

I am a stupid American with no sense of History. Geography baffles me. So take pity on my heritage and just tell me where you are :)

Hi Heidi...so I'm yet another bad American when it comes to geography and history...and without jumping over to Google to see what I can find...I'm gonna guess Belgium...only because next to where you are "doing laundry", they have the best chocolate!!
And yes, the parliament building does look tasty!!
Have a great time!!

Berlin!

Berlin, but I totally cheated. Forst I looked closely at the chocolate building to read that little sign on it but that just said, "don't touch." So I Googled parliament dome and just looked for the picture till I found it. But, hey, now I'm just a little smarter than I was yesterday and I don't think I will ever forget what the Berlin Parliament building looks like or who designed the dome (Norman Foster).

And yeah, no sympathy from me. Try jealousy, envy, covetting, etc, but NOT sympathy =)
