It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...

We woke up to a lovely sight this morning:

Yes, I said lovely. For the last few weeks, it has been pitch black when we've woken up in the morning, but today, at 7 am, there was an ethereal, wintry glow peeking through the curtains:

The light dusting of snow had our boys super excited to go to school, planning elaborate forts and spooky snowball fights:

While we frolic in the snow this afternoon, we'll be sending happy thoughts to all you Americans out there celebrating Thanksgiving today.

I am once again - JEALOUS!! We got some cooler weather here last night, but we will not likely see any snow anytime soon. I loved these pictures. Will you celebrate Thanksgiving - if so, and I assume you will - Happy Thanksgiving to you and all your beautiful family. Have a good day.

It's snowing here, too, this morning. There's spots where it's stuck to the grass, but not many, it's mostly just wet. and cold.

Heidi, how many hours of sunlight do you get there in the winter?

Down here in Texas, we've finally got cool weather, but alas, no snow. Thanks for sharing some of yours.

In northern Norway, within the arctic circle, they go almost 2 months without sunlight...which is a drag. Here in Oslo, it's not so bad. But at its worst, ie. in a month, we'll have maybe 5 hours of dusky light. No bright sunshine. The sun doesn't make it above the mountains.
I don't mind it so much, but some people do get depressed.
But then there's the summer, when the sun doesn't set. Time to party! :)

I am so jealous. We finally have a cold snap here, but even that is no where close to snow temperatures.

Beautiful. We got more snow last night too...and it does seem magical in the early light...until you have to get out from under the covers, shovel off your car and drag the kiddies to school through it! LOL! Enjoy!

What a magical morning to wake up to. Throw a few snow balls for the rest of us. I still love snow as much as I did when I was a kid. It just makes me happy.

It looks about the same out my windows too. J has just gone out for his second play in the snow for today. If he keeps it up I am going to have to dry his snowsuit. Hope your boys have a blast.

isn't it fun that we got the same weather at the same time, yet we are so far apart! I love the snow, and I am actually hoping for a cold winter so we can make an outdoor rink in our back yard.

I'm so enjoying your Norwegian adventure! I can pass on the snow, though...Been there, done that!
We really must get back to Norway, again, sigh...but in the summer!

It's like you live in a postcard! Pretty. Cpmpletely foreign to me too, Christmas is all about bushfires and long hot days over here!

Wow! We get maybe one or two snowfalls a year here. (Our specialty is ice storms.)

Beautiful photos.

Beautiful - your children must be ecstatic! I can't help but feel a bit envious because it's raining today here. It is the first time in 6 months though, so I suppose I can't really complain.

Beautiful pictures! We had heavy frost this morning but it's unlikely we will get more than a dusting of snow all winter.

Yes, snow is pretty---through a window with a blazing fire at your back and a snifter of brandy in your hand...

Oh that tree! We got a nice dump on Thursday, but it was wetter. Sleet, pretty much. But it still does provide a little bit of "blanket".
Hope you and the boys enjoy the winter fun!

I am enjoying those photo's! Brings back the memories of growing up in Michigan where the snow was always there! Those photo's could have been taken in our back yard there!

We have only seen a light dusting here so far this year and it does not look like any snow is coming soon... post more photo's so I too can enjoy your snow!
