We're ridding the house of Christmas this weekend too. It's therapeutic, don't you think?

I love the picture of the boys demolishing the gingerbread house!

We couldn't eat our gingerbread house. It was covered in icky sick germs left behind by my niece and nephew (and I threw it away the day they left town :))

All that snow looks like lots of fun!!!

Great photos...I liked how you lined this up with goodbyes. We say that, out loud, here. Seems to help the kids. Also saying goodbye to Christmas here this weekend.

So we're just like you...except in another country, with no snow or cold. It's 75 and our windows are thrown open as we prance about in shorts and t-shirts. ;)

Reminds me I have to take down the tree. We tossed the gingerbread house as it didn't look too appetizing anymore. This part always makes me a little sad.
But it is a new year and time for new beginnings.
You're too organized.

So you're having a wonderful Sunday?

I promise if you ever say anything as funny as that about cheese, that I'll keep it to myself! (ok, I probably won't - but you gotta admit, that was too funny NOT to share!)

That last photo is so cute.
After taking down all the Christmas decorations I feel my house looks so bare.

BTW, I have a couple of questions that I've been meaning to ask you offline, but I don't have your email. Mine is jenontheedge (at) embarqmail (dot) com. Thanks!

I love the photo of the boys gobbling up the gingerbread house. That's all my kids have talked about doing since we made ours before Christmas.

oh what great photos...love the last snow fun shot!

Saying good bye is a bit bitter sweet when it comes to Christmas!

Thanks for sharing!

There's something cathartic about putting away Christmas. Great pics!

The last photo is amazing, I love it!!!
Wish we had a little more snow here, would have made skidooing yesterday (havent posted it yet) a lot more fun.
We also did the Christmas declutter, feels so good!

My son was wanting to eat our gingerbread house, which we made in late Novemeber and which one of our cats has been chewing on. Um, no?

All that snow makes up for it, doesn't it?!

I'll try not to get too envious of all that gorgeous snow and maybe I'll go out and lie in the hammock.... :)

It's that gingerbread house kinda hard at this point? Maybe it's good for dental hygeine, like a dog biscuit.

This from a woman who ate the filthy icicles hanging from the eaves as a girl.

What a blast your kids must have living there!! I know I would be in heaven - I just love living vicariously through you - you have been such a blessing in my life. Take care. Kellan

brrrr. as lovely as it looks, my body can't take that much snow. but i am glad you love it as much as you do.

Other than to have Mr. G. take the boxes down to the basement, our house is de-christmased as well. But I'm not going to lie to you, it could be another 2-4 months before he gets those boxes down to the basement.

Yay. Back to routines. I love them.

Having read your blog for a few months, I, who hates the cold, officially now have Snow Envy. Who'd have thought?

Thanks, Heidi...it's fixed now, and I left a comment for you right beneath your comment. If that makes sense...HAHA. So, hop back over when you get a chance and take a look. Then, read the post below "Computer Illiterate." I hope you'll allow yourself to be tagged??? Pretty please?

And congratulations on getting the Christmas decorations put away. What I think is the most cute thing is the middle picture of all the little boys with bedhead. Awww! As if they're not just cute as buttons to start with...add in the bedhead, and they become extra-cute!

I'm sad to see it go, but happy that my house seems less cluttered now!

My kids just ate the decorations off of our gingerbread house this weekend also! I was so glad to get all the Christmas things put away. They were starting to get on my nerves!

It looks really cold there...stay warm!

Isn't it sad to put Christmas into a box? But it's almost refreshing too. In stores in the United States, Christmas starts after Halloween (sometimes sooner; it starts in July at Michaels!) so putting it away to wait for next year is sometimes a relief.

We are COVERED in snow right now - have been for the last couple of weeks. It's fun, but - I'm also getting a little sick of it. Making forts and igloos and snowmen = fun. Sliding all over the road and slipping on ice and freezing your butt off when you have to chase the dog into a snowdrift = NOT FUN.

I always feel so elated when all the Christmas stuff is put away again...everything seems so clean. The snow looks like fun.

Our stuff is finally down too! And everything looks so nice and clean.
That snow is beautiful...it was 60 here today. In Chicago! In January!

Oh I love thos shots. It's always such an accomplishment to pack everything away isn't it?

Candy said...

I absolutely hate packing all the Christmas stuff away. It depresses me. I usually get a bye, and the husband and kids do it, but this year I had to do most of it myself. I worked through it with wine.

painted maypole said...

the gingerbread house we made was from an old kit someone gave us - the candies were rock solid and the gingerbread stale. but it looked good. :)

Stomper Girl said...

Your boys look so delightful in the snow! I guess the bonus about not having our own tree this year - because we went away - is not having to pack up the tree (and vacuum up all the pine needles!). See, there's always a silver lining.

Holy Bajoly... that last picture makes me shiver!! (It's a great pic though!!)

We did the same thing with our Christmas decor,a nd kept going! I cleaned closets, cabinets, under beds. It was awesome and very therapeutic! The snow makes me greeeeeeeen with envy.

Look at those pink cheeks!

That is exactly us right now! Two feet of snow on the ground and no more stinkin' Christmas decorations!

Wheee!

Great pictures!

Look at all of the snow! Taht last picture is fantastic. What fun!

It is always so sad to take all of the decorations down. I'm still holding out. Our Christmas tree has been down for over a week, but everything else is still up. I just can't bring myself to do it yet. Most of my decs are snowmen, so I'm telling myself they can stay up for most of winter. hehe
At least you still have some snow. ??

We took our things down early this year -- the day after Christmas -- because we were leaving town. I have to admit, it was nice to come back and have it already done!

That snow! Wow. My kids would be ecstatic.

You have some beautiful little "snow men" there. :-)
