It's the End of the World...

Before you start worrying that being in Norway has finally pushed us over the edge...let me reassure you; we are all healthy and happy. And not crazy yet. We simply decided that yesterday was a good day for an outing. So the entire Bjerkan clan (minus my brother who was working, and B boy and Mormor (aka my mother) who were off to see a pirate show) packed ourselves into two cars and set off. Destination: "Verdens Ende" (translation: "the End of the World"). Which happens to be 90 minutes away from our current residence. Who knew?!

It was beautiful. Reminiscent of the breathtaking scenery of the Muskoka area of Ontario, with rock outcroppings jutting dramatically into the ocean. We had a great time, ate a picnic lunch and watched the boys jump from rock to rock, while attacking poor jellyfish with pebbles. We only headed home again once the heavens decided to open and rain started pouring down...

Meanwhile, in the south of Norway, B boy was having a fantastic time at a special pirate show with Mormor. This show is only on for two or three weeks each summer, and has to be booked well in advance. They were gone for three days, and arrived back home this afternoon. The actual pirate performance was held at midnight last night, when Captain Sable Tooth sailed in on his pirate ship. From the sounds of it, it was an amazing experience for my little pirate-in-the-making. He came home dressed to the nines, complete with jewelry, a pirate hat and a sword. Thank you, Mormor, for giving Benjamin a truly unique experience. I am sure he will be reliving it for weeks to come!

o.k. is looks like I'm missing everything. The end of the world looks very beautiful but I was told the Mont St. Michel is the end of the world. Well, that's what the French like to think. I love the pirate outfit. B boy will have to wear it next Halloween.
